Donna Cubbedge Hardie

Donna Cubbedge Hardie
Savannah, Georgia

March 7, 1951 – February 5, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donna Cubbedge Hardie, who went home to the Lord on February 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to innumerable people and causes.

Donna was born in Savanah on March 7, 1951. She deeply loved the Savannah area and was a true “island girl”, spending her life on Wilmington and Tybee Islands. Donna was a graduate of Savannah High School and Armstrong State College. She spent over 30 years working at the Georgia Ports Authority, retiring as the Executive Secretary to the President & CEO. She had a servant’s heart and enjoyed volunteering, always using her time, talents, and skills willingly to benefit others. Donna was active with the Savannah Garden Club and chaired many committees and tours, including the annual NOGS tour of historic, residential Savannah. She also devoted time to The One Hundred Children’s Foundation, where she organized and co-chaired several of their annual Bear Galas. Outside of volunteering, Donna also loved fishing and boating in the creeks around the islands, going to the beach, gardening and feeding birds (especially cardinals), sunsets, the Savannah St. Patrick’s Day parade, Georgia football, and more than anything, spoiling her grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Nira Cubbedge, and her sister, Linda Langston. She is survived by her daughters, Kellie Steedman (Arthur) and Katie Conleay; grandchildren Will & Parker Steedman and Camp & Cordyn Conleay (who were all truly the apples of her eye); sister Debra Edenfield (George); brother-in-law Steve Langston; and nieces Jessica Langston McClellan (Chandler), Stephanie Langston (Rory), Leia Edenfield Smith (Chris); nephew Joshua Edenfield; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 3:00 PM at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, 4605 US 80 E in Savannah. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The One Hundred Children’s Foundation, Inc., 1 Diamond Causeway, Suite 21, Box 191, Savannah, GA 31406 (www.theonehundredchildrensfoundation.org), or a charity of your choice.
